PERIODONTAL TREATMENT

Periodontal treatment involves the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the tissues surrounding the teeth, such as periodontitis (also known as periodontal disease). Periodontitis is caused by the accumulation of bacterial plaque and leads to inflammation of the gums, pus formation, loose teeth, and alveolar bone loss. If left untreated, this disease can lead to tooth loss.

Periodontal treatment includes various procedures, such as surgical removal of periodontal pockets, bite correction, and professional oral hygiene, during which hard and soft plaque is removed and the surfaces of the tooth roots are polished.

Prevention is very important – proper oral hygiene, regular professional hygiene procedures, and visits to a specialist help prevent the progression of these diseases and tooth loss. Periodontal treatment can prevent serious damage and ensure long-term dental health.
